A Vail woman filed for divorce from her husband who is charged with killing her daughter.
Jessica Lelevier, the mother of 13-year-old Jayden Glomb whose body was found May 11 along the side of a road in Vail, filed for divorce in Pima County Superior Court on June 6, said Attorney Matthew Randle, who represents the woman.
On May 31, Tucson police said Jayden was killed by asphyxiation and homicide detectives arrested her stepfather, Joshua Lelevier, 37, who is accused of first-degree murder and abandoning or concealing a body. He is being held at the Pima County jail on a $500,000 bond.
Jayden was last seen at her home by family members the night of May 10, police were told. The body of the Old Vail Middle School seventh-grader was found hours later.
In a news release, Randle said Jessica Lelevier "wants to express her heartfelt gratitude for the continued outpouring of support from the community." She also asked for privacy to be allowed to mourn.
Jessica Lelevier is a senior master sergeant with the 943rd Rescue Group at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
Joshua Lelevier was not employed, according to court documents. In March 2012, he joined the Florida Air National Guard and the technical sergeant worked as an avionics test station and components craftsman, said William Manley, deputy communications director for the Department of Military Affairs for the Florida National Guard, in an email.
Manley said Joshua Lelevier initiated paperwork to leave the Florida National Guard and transfer to another unit, but had not completed that process.
