A bystander rescued a woman from a Marana irrigation canal after sheΒ crashed her car and fell into the ditch, floating downstream for about 200 feet.

MARANA, Ariz. β€” A single vehicle crash near Tucson took an unusual turn when the driver ended up floating down an irrigation ditch.

Marana police say the female driver failed to navigate a right turn and crashed her vehicle into an irrigation ditch about 5:30 p.m. Friday.

She then tried to exit her vehicle, fell into the ditch and floated downstream for about 200 feet.

Police say a Good Samaritan witnessed the crash and helped her out of the ditch, potentially saving her life.

Paramedics were called to the scene, and she was taken to Northwest Medical Center with minor injuries.

The woman's name hasn't been released yet.

Police say the incident remains under investigation and officers are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
