Federal authorities seized an estimated $173,000 in drugs, including hashish oil from a woman at a Nogales border crossing over the weekend. The seizures were in separate incidents.

An 18-year-old woman from San Simon, Arizona was taken into custody Saturday at the Dennis DeConcini port of entry after officers found she was carrying nearly 4.5 pounds of hashish oil beneath her clothing, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection news release.

One drug package was taped around her waist, another in her groin area, and a third on the inner portion of her thigh, officials said. The drugs have an undetermined value.

On Friday evening, officers also arrested a 45-year-old woman, who is a Mexican national, after a drug-sniffing dog alerted to a scent in the woman's Ford SUV at the DeConcini crossing.

Authorities found more than 40 pounds of methamphetamine that was worth nearly $121,000. Also, about 5 pounds of cocaine, worth more than $52,000, was confiscated. The drugs were found within the vehicle's passenger doors.

In addition to the drugs, the vehicle was seized and the women were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
