Grease and oil collections

Residents can get rid of used cooking oil and grease Jan. 7.

The 12th annual collection by the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department, Edge Group, Grecycle, Pima Association of Governments, and the town of Sahuarita will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following sites:

  • O’Rielly Chevrolet, 6160 E. Broadway.
  • City Council Ward 3 Office, 1510 E. Grant Road
  • Pima Vocational High School, 5025 W. Ina Road
  • Kino Sports Complex, 2500 E. Ajo Way
  • Sahuarita Town Hall Complex, 375 W. Sahuarita Center Way

More than 30,000 pounds of used cooking oil and kitchen grease have been collected since 2005. The oil and grease are recycled into biodiesel.
