Ryan Hartung, of Oro Valley Citizens for Open Government, submits recall petitions to Julie Bower, Oro Valley's town clerk on Monday.

Recall petitions were filed this morning against three members of the Oro Valley Town Council.

Oro Valley Citizens for Open Government Committee, seek to recall Lou Waters, the town's vice mayor, along with council members Joe Hornat and Mary Snider.

The recall effort stems from the town's deal to buy a country club and golf courses for $1 million from HSL Properties. Town officials signed a purchase agreement last week.

The town plans to turn El Conquistador Country Club, 10555 N. La CaΓ±ada Drive, into a community center and recreation center.

The Oro Valley Clerk's Office has 10 days to certify the petitions filed Monday, which will be forwarded to Pima County for signature verification.

The group also seeks to seek a recall of Mayor Satish Hiremath, but those petitions were not filed Monday. The group says it has until June 26, to collect 2,765 signatures.
