An author and expert on U.S.-Mexico relations will speak in Tucson next week.
Andrew Selee founded the Mexico Institute at the Woodrow Wilson Center and is now president of the Migration Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C. nonpartisan think tank.
During his lecture and panel discussion on Tuesday, June 12, at the PCC District Office, Selee will discuss the relationship between both countries as well as his new book, βVanishing Frontiers: The Forces Driving the United States and Mexico Together.β
Following the lecture, there will be a panel discussion about whether in a global economy collaboration between the U.S. and Mexico is a better strategy than opposition.
Panelists include: U.S. Consul General Virginia Staab, Mexico Consul in Tucson Ricardo Pineda, former U.S. Congressman Jim Kolbe and Selee. Juan Ciscomani, director of the Arizona-Mexico Commission and Southern Arizona chief of staff for Gov. Doug Ducey, will be the moderator.
