A 37-year-old Tucson man wanted in connection with the shooting of his ex-girlfriend and the killing of her companion was arrested Friday in Phoenix, police said.
An arrest warrant for first-degree murder was issued against Daniel Miller hours after police say he shot and wounded his ex-girlfriend and fatally wounded Michael Grove as the pair walked out of a house in the 200 block of West Illinois Street, near South Sixth Avenue and West Ajo Way Thursday morning, police said.
Grove died at a hospital and the woman, who police did not publicly identify, had been listed in critical condition.
Investigators say Grove was visiting the woman at her house when Miller arrived. Sometime later, Miller shot both of them with a handgun.
On Friday, federal marshals located Miller in Phoenix, Sgt. Kimberly Bay, said in a news release Saturday.
Miller injured himself trying to escape apprehension and was taken to a Phoenix hospital, Bay said.
He is expected to be booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, police said.
