A man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after he shot at deputies in 2016, officials say.Β

David Allen White was charged with robbery and multiple counts of aggravated assault, said Pima County Superior Court spokeswoman Krisanne LoGalbo.Β

In December of 2016, White was arrested after he pushed a child to the ground and stole the child's bicycle in north Tucson, Arizona Daily Star archives show. A second person, Stacey Lynn Lastella, was also involved and arrested at the time.

Lastella was sentenced to 110 days in Pima County jail with credit for time served.Β

Following the incident, deputies with the Pima County Sheriff's Department were able to locate a car being driven by Lastella. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled into a desert area.

Lastella and White, who was the passenger, ran from the car. White then pointed a gun at the deputies and fired several shots, archives show. A deputy fired at least one shot in response.

No one was injured.
