A Tucson man suspected of fleeing the scene of a fatal crash in July was arrested by authorities.

Sean Michael Yacks, 30, was booked into the Pima County jail, according to Deputy Marissa Hernandez, spokeswoman for the Pima County Sheriff's Department. No bond has been set.

Mexican authorities working with U.S. Marshals located and arrested Yack and turned him over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers on Thursday.

Investigators have said Yacks was driving a car in July that ran a red light at East Speedway and North Wilmot Road, crashing into another car driven by 24-year-old Meghan Clevenger.

Clevenger and her passenger 20-year-old Angel Vega were killed.

At the time of the crash, investigators said Yacks was speeding.

After the crash, police said Yacks ran from the scene. Police were unable to locate him, and a felony arrest warrant was issued in July.

Yacks is a convicted felon who was previously sentenced to five years in prison for aggravated assault in Pima County, records show.Β
