Banner-University Medicine North, the new $100 million adult outpatient clinic, opens its doors to patients Thursday, Dec. 28, to provide 28 medical and surgical specialties ranging from cardiology to neurology to infectious disease and vascular surgery.
By spring, two more specialties, medical imaging and radiation oncology, will be available at the new facility.
The three-story, 13-acre medical facility is 2½ miles north of campus at 3838 N. Campbell Ave. and was relocated to the new facilities to replace the cramped and aging clinics within the main Banner-UMC. The new facility has 208,000 square feet of clinic space, covered parking, gardens and a cafe.
Banner-UMC North will provide a variety of services that patients should be able to receive all necessary services under one roof, Banner-University Medicine president Kathy Bollinger said in a statement.
This is the first completed step in Banner’s $500 million makeover of the university’s medical facilities.
By April 2019, construction of the new nine-story $400 million hospital tower at Banner-UMC is expected to be completed.
