A 70-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle car crash Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
At about 1:30 p.m., Pinal County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a collision in the area of American Avenue and Our Way, and discovered Gerold Flick deceased inside the car, said Mark Clark, a Sheriff's department spokesman.
There were no witnesses to the crash, but the car was found on its side with smoke coming from it, Sheriff Paul Babeu said in a news release.
Deputies are collecting evidence from the scene to try to learn what happened, and the medical examiner's office is looking into if there were any medical issues that could have contributed to the crash, Babeu said.
