Tucsonans looking to adopt a pet this weekend are in for a treat: Pima Animal Care Center is hosting its Santa Adoption Party this weekend and adoption fees are waived.

Potential pet parents can enjoy free cookies, cocoa and kids' crafts, those who adopt will be taking home gifts and a family photo with Santa, thanks to the event sponsor, Tucson Electric Power.

Adoption fees are waived, but a standard licensing fee of $17 applies to all adult dogs.

Those who attend are asked to consider bringing an item from the center's pets' wish list, such as quality canned food, new fleece blankets or plastic cat toys.

All adoptions include the pet's spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip and a vet visit.

The event runs until 5 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

PACC is located at 4000 N. Silverbell Rd. and can be reached by phone at 724-5900.
