UPDATE: Sahuarita police: Teen cyclist struck by car remains at hospital

A 15-year-old bicyclist was critically injured Tuesday morning when he was struck by a car south of Tucson, Sahuarita police say.

The crash happened about 8 a.m. near South Old Nogales Highway and East Quail Crossing Boulevard, an agency news release said. 

The teen was taken to a hospital in Tucson and was in critical condition, police said in the release. 

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, the release says. No charges or arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing. 

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has further information is asked to call 911.
