Ken Saufley makes the kids at Miles learning center smile.

What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”

Last week’s recipient: Ken Saufley.

Nominated by: Jana Martin and Class 5.

Why: For his humor, thoughtfulness, flexibility and contributions to the Miles Exploratory Learning Center community. Saufley makes the kids at Miles laugh with his good humor and jokes. He takes the time to learn each student’s name and cares about all the students, Martin and the students in Class 5 wrote in their nomination letter. Saufley helps the kids open their lunches and cleans up after messes, the students wrote. He also made the class a birdhouse. “Thank you for being cool and taking care of our school,” they wrote.
