Body Fit Training has opened its first local gym in Oro Valley.

Body Fit Training, a global boutique gym, founded in Melbourne, Australia, has opened its first local studio in Oro Valley.

It is owned by Kevin Boesen, founder of SinfoniaRx, a spinoff from the Medical Management Center at the University of Arizona that he started.

In 2017, Boesen sold SinfoniaRx for $135 million and sought new ventures.

β€œI was drawn to become a BFT owner because I truly fell in love with the workout's distinctiveness," he said. "With BFT being accessible to all age groups and demographics, we're ecstatic to provide a specialized haven where anyone can place their fitness at the forefront and enrich their overall quality of life.”

The BFT model uses science-based group strength programming in 13 class types.

The Oro Valley location is at 11015 N. Oracle Road. It's open from 5 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday and again from 3 to 8 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, it’s open from 7 to 10 a.m.

Boesen plans to open two more gyms in the foothills and Vail.
