A family-owned Western clothing store is planning to enter the Tucson market.
Cavender’s Boot City, founded in Pittsburg, Texas, in 1965, bought the former Walgreens building at 4220 N. Oracle Road for $3.7 million.
Known for its large footprint, the Western apparel store will occupy the 14,875-square-foot space near Tucson Mall, on the corner of Oracle Road and Limberlost Drive.

Cavender’s boasts a large selection of men’s and women’s clothing, hand-creased hats, jewelry, belts, buckles and, of course, boots.
The store, which has grown to over 100 locations in 60 years, also carries merchandise from the king of country music, George Strait.

The former Walgreens space will have to be renovated, and an opening date for Cavender’s has not yet been announced.

- Teen Challenge of Arizona Inc. bought 0.51 acres of land at 3990 N. Stone Ave. from Circle K Stores, Inc. for $200,000. Rob Tomlinson and Greg Furrier, with Picor, represented the seller, in conjunction with Cushman & Wakefield Client Services in St. Louis.
- Old Pueblo Baptist Church Inc. leased 3,211 square feet at Eastside Research Commerce Center, 1775 S. Pantano Road, from Eastside Center LLC. Alex Demeroutis, Paul Hooker and Jesse Blum, with Picor, represented the landlord.
- Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs leased 1,485 square feet of office space at Sundt Corp. Southern AZ HQ, 2015 W. River Road, from Sundt Companies Inc. Ryan McGregor, with Picor, represented the landlord and Batoun Herrington, with Branel Real Estate Co., represented the tenant.
- Desi Mall, an Indian clothing store, leased 1,200 square feet of retail space at Grant Square, 4444 E. Grant Road, from Kolvoord Family Limited Partnership. Rob Tomlinson, with Picor, represented the landlord and Patrick Teske, with Tierra Antigua Realty, represented the tenant.
