A 16-month-old boy who nearly drowned Tuesday was released from the hospital and is home with his family.
The boy was treated after he was pulled out of his family's pool on Tucson's northwest side, said Capt. Brian Keeley, a Northwest Fire District spokesman.
On Wednesday, Keeley said the boy was released.
The child was found in the above ground pool by his parents, who are both CPR trained, and the parents revived their son, said Keeley.
The boy was attended by paramedics after arriving shortly after 4 p.m. to the family's house in the 5700 block of West Cortaro Crossing Drive, east of Interstate 10.
He was taken to a hospital and was listed in serious but stable condition Tuesday, Keeley said.Β
The parents said that the boy had been inside the house, and he was seen playing less than five minutes before he was discovered floating in the pool, said Keely.
The child may have used the doggy door to get out of the house and then made his way to the back yard pool. The parents said the ladder to the pool is usually removed, but that had not occurred earlier Tuesday, Keely said.
