South Tucson police found the body of a woman shortly after a man called 911 to say he had killed his girlfriend, officials said.

The man told police about the killing about 5:20 this morning, said Lt. Jeff Inorio, of the South Tucson Police Department.

Investigators went to the Econolodge at 3020 S. Sixth Ave. and found the body of a woman, he said.

A man linked to the killing was found in the area, Inorio said.

Police were at the scene this morning.
