PACC Adoptions

A family of new puppies huddle together at Pima Animal Care Center, 4000 N. Silverbell Rd. in Tucson, AZ. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Since May 1, Pima Animal Care Center has taken in 488 dogs, 268 cats, and multiple litters of puppies and kittens. As of Monday, May 15, the shelter had no space for incoming dogs so has offered to waive the adoption fee for all adult dogs, over 6 months, through Sunday, May 21. In addition, the shelter will host a Puppy and Kitten Baby Shower from 8 – 10 a.m., Saturday, May 20 to recruit fosters willing to take a pet home that same day.

With more than 20,000 stray pets entering Pima County shelters each year, three Tucson animal welfare agencies have joined forces to bring free micro-chipping to pet owners.

After receiving 1,000 donated microchips from the American Kennel Club, Pima Animal Care Center teamed up with the Humane Society of Southern Arizona and No Kill Pima County for a community wide β€œMicrochip Marathon,” said Vanessa Ford, a HSSA spokeswoman.

On June 24 from 9 a.m. to noon, free micro-chipping will be available at the following locations while supplies last:

  • Companions for Life Center, 3465 E. Kleindale Road.
  • Pima Animal Care Center, 4000 N. Silverbell Road.
  • Marana Community Center, 13250 N. Lon Adams Road.
  • Twin Peaks Veterinary Clinic, 7555 W. Twin Peaks Road.
  • ABC Clinic, 375 W. Ajo Way.

Twin Peaks Veterinary Clinic will also be offering free micro-chipping every Thursday in June from 5 to 7 p.m.

Two other free clinics will be available through Asavet and No Kill Pima County.
