Volunteers, judges are sought
for science, engineering fair
Volunteers and judges are needed for the Spring Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation fair.
An information session will be held Feb. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 4574 E. Broadway.
The SARSEF fair begins April 11 and runs through April 14 at the Tucson Convention Center.

Amphitheater launches ‘Listen & Learn’ survey to aid in planning
Amphitheater Public Schools has launched a “Listen & Learn” community survey designed to help identify what is most important to district staff, students, and families.
The input will help inform the creation of a new district-wide five-year strategic plan, “Amphi 2021,” which will be introduced later this year.
The survey, which is also open to community members, can be accessed at surveymonkey.com/r/Amphi2021
Responses will be collected through Wednesday, Jan. 31.

Hall of Fame nominations
Nominations for the Sabino High School Foundation 2018 Hall of Fame are now being accepted.
Nominee names and a brief biography can be emailed to Bruce Johnson at bnjohn49@gmail.com by Jan. 31.
The ceremony will be held at Sabino High School this fall.
Two Catalina Foothills educators earn national board certification
Two Catalina Foothills School District educators have earned national board certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
They are Tiffany Wiley of Manzanita Elementary School and Sheryl Castro, director of global citizenship education.
National board certification is an advanced teaching credential in which teachers show they have met the profession’s highest standards and have the knowledge and skills necessary to advance student learning.
Only about 3 percent of teachers nationwide are national board-certified.
Free sixth Edcamp Tucson event
is Feb. 10 at learning collaborative
The City Center for Collaborative Learning is hosting Edcamp Tucson, a space where educators and community partners can share ideas, exchange resources and generate enthusiasm for the profession.
The event is Feb. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at City Center for Collaborative Learning, 47 E. Pennington St.
It is free and open to the public.

Catalina Foothills district
opens online registration
Online registration for the 2018-19 school year is now open for the Catalina Foothills School District.
Families living within district boundaries are asked to complete the registration process as soon as possible to collect accurate enrollment numbers to plan for teachers for the next school year. Go to cfsd16.org and click on “register for school.”
Families who live outside of the district can also apply online at cfsd16.org by clicking on “open enrollment.” Applications submitted by Jan. 31 will receive an email response by March 1. Applications received after Jan. 31 will receive a response in a timely manner, but no later than two weeks prior to the first day of school.
