The Tucson Police Department is joining other law enforcement agencies in the state this month in cracking down on seat belt violations, authorities say.
Arizona currently handles its seat belt law as a secondary violation, while child safety seats are a primary violation, the department said in a news release.
Under the enforcement campaign, a βzero-toleranceβ approach will be used for both seat belt and child safety seat usage. The enforcement campaign in part of a the national Click It or Ticket effort, the release said.
The enforcement effort runs rom May 20 through June 2.
Funding for the enforcement campaign was provided by the Governorβs Office of Highway Safety.
