A 32-year-old was killed early Sunday in a fatal crash on Tucson’s northwest side, police say.
The single-vehicle crash occurred about 12:45 a.m. on West Prince Road at North Business Center Drive, just west of Interstate 10, police said.
Alexander Garcia-Avalos was driving a black 2017 Nissan Altima on Prince with its headlights turned off when he ran a stop sign and slammed into a block wall, police said in a news release.
Garcia-Avalos wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and there were open containers of alcohol in the car, police said.
It marked the 55th fatal crash in Tucson this year. Of those, 18 involved pedestrians, 6 involved bicycles, 12 involved motorcycles and 19 involved vehicles, police said.
