Tucson has set a new July 9 record for rainfall, with 1.01 inches falling so far at the airport as of 5 p.m.
The previous record for the date was 0.74 inch in 1932.
Despite the new record, the National Weather Service tweeted of today's storms: "Most areas of the metro have seen limited or no rain except for the south/southwest side," which includes Tucson International Airport.
