An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect today, but relief is in sight, with much cooler temperatures– and rain– arriving Friday.

The U.S. National Weather Service is advising that people limit outdoor activity and drink plenty of water, also making sure that pets have access to water.

Isolated scattered thunderstorms will descend on southeast Arizona Thursday, bringing gusty winds. Friday will bring the possibility of stronger storms, with the best chances for heavy rainfall occurring Friday night into Saturday.
