Volunteer tax preparers will help determine if you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Browse volunteer opportunities on the Volunteer Center at United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona’s website, volunteer.unitedwaytucson.org, click on β€œfind needs” and search for agency name.

Pima Community College β€” This opportunity with PCC’s Adult Basic Education for College and Career is to work one-on-one with a student in a tutoring room or within a classroom as a classroom/teacher’s aide. Volunteers must have a comfort level with math as well as good communication skills.

HUD-VASH β€” Volunteer to provide vehicle and personnel to pick up and deliver furniture and household items to formerly homeless veterans and their families in Pima County. Volunteers will need to provide their own truck. Smaller items may be transported in a smaller vehicle.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance β€” Valet VITA needs interview specialists, who will conduct thorough interviews with families and individuals needing tax preparation. Valet VITA is a tax-preparation model intended to reduce wait times at busy VITA sites, ensuring that all eligible taxpayers receive service without being turned away.

Green Valley-Sahuarita Volunteer Clearinghouse β€” Looking for caring, compassionate volunteers to assist with Valley Assistance Service’s Virtual Dementia Tour two days per month for two hours. The dementia interactive program allows someone to walk in the shoes of those with dementia.

Continental Elementary School β€” Looking for a volunteer who enjoys libraries, is able to pay close attention to detail, can help with shelving and perhaps checking books in and out, enjoys children and is able to commit to the entire school year with a minimum of twol hours per week.
