Re: the Dec. 16 article β€œBusiness groups sue to overturn voter-approved minimum-wage hike"

I hope these business groups, like the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, remember they’re suing their customers. After the public voted by a 58-42 percent margin that the minimum wage be raised, business owners aren’t game. Paying employees a so-called living wage of $10 instead of $8 an hour is just too much to ask.

If you’re like me, you’re sick and tired of having Arizona citizens’ decisions met perpetually with obstruction. Even though the chambers may have a right to sue, we have a right to boycott chamber businesses! We can begin with restaurants where we know minimum wage employees aren’t given tips, like fast food chamber members. Then move to boycott retail and service businesses. It’s easy to find them; they’re on the web.

We’re not helpless. We can vote again, this time with our money.
