Re: the Aug. 3 article "Some will ignore law on 'ballot harvesting.'"

I read with hope today of the issue of ballot collecting and the attempt by Arizona Republicans to interfere with the long established practice of collecting ballots from early voters by organizations and others who are attempting to enlarge the electorate and make it easier to vote. I can well see how this practice would help get the vote out on the Navajo reservation and other remote areas of the state.

This attempt to make such a practice illegal is but one more attempt to interfere with the freedom to vote aimed at minorities. The courts are thankfully squashing such efforts. One might wish also the GOP stop its attempts to win elections by cheating people out of the vote. If you can't win by ideas you cant win and shouldn't win. Republicans are in for a long slide if they don't change their ways, I suspect. Hopefully so.
