Re: the May 25 letters "Linking Prop. 123 to income is silly" and "Prop. 123 'no' voters support education."
Thank you to the letter writers for stating so clearly why they voted โnoโ on Prop. 123. Instead of accurately gauging the slow boil of frustration and distrust with the current group of Republican legislators who deny that they broke the law and now oppose increasing education funding, the leader of the pro-123 movement wants to shift the blame back on to voters by saying that โoverwhelminglyโ they are worried about how the money might be misspent.
This argument is utter nonsense. It is increasingly evident that this group has only one goal, to strangle and destroy public education in our state.
I join the two writers and countless others in Pima County who believe that our children deserve better than what they are receiving from these obstructive elected representatives. I will support candidates who will put public education first.
