PHOENIX — Authorities say a man has been fatally shot after allegedly pointing a gun at a Phoenix police officer.

Police say officers responded to a domestic violence call around 7 p.m. Saturday.

They say a woman told officers that she was involved in a physical altercation with 35-year-old Eric Hagstrom.

Hagstrom allegedly left the scene in the woman's car and was involved in a collision a few blocks away.

He fled the scene and was later found in a driveway with a gun.

Police say Hagstrom was told to drop the weapon but instead pointed it at an officer and was shot.

He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

The officer involved wasn't injured.

Police say a gun was found at the scene, and the shooting is being investigated.
