Tucson weather

Tucson hit its first 100-degree day of 2026 at 2:05 p.m. Thursday.

That's one day before the first day of spring.

Today's  triple-digit temperature breaks the previous record for earliest 100-degree day in Tucson, the National Weather service in Tucson says.

The previous record was set on April 11, 2025.

And it breaks the record for the hottest March 19th in Tucson, which was 95 degrees set in 1907.

High temperatures of at least 100 degrees are expected in Tucson on Friday and Saturday too. Highs here will be in the high 90s through next week, the forecast shows.

The hotter-than-normal temperatures have prompted an extreme heat warning in the Tucson area through Sunday.

In Phoenix, it reached 102 degrees on Wednesday. The high there was expected to reach 105 later today, the weather service said.
