2024 Presidential candidate profile: Will Hurd

Former Texas Republican Representative Will Hurd is running for President of the United States. Hurd is a critic of former President Donald Trump. Hurd hopes to build momentum as a more moderate alternative to Trump. He served three terms in the House through January 2021, becoming the chamber’s only Black Republican during his final two years in office. Hurd also is a former CIA agent who worked in Pakistan. Associated Press reporter Will Weissert said that being a former CIA officer has added extra fuel to Hurd’s critiques of Trump, especially concerning the classified documents investigation Trump was federally indicted for.
