Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is running for president of the United States once again. Christie ran before in 2016 as he faced-off against the eventual winner, Donald Trump. After Christie bowed out of that election, he played a major part in Trump’s campaign. However, after the 2020 election, when Trump refused to accept that he had lost that election, Christie severed ties with the former president and has since been a major critic of Trump. Now, they are facing off again in a primary election for 2024. Associated Press reporter Jill Colvin said Christie is facing an uphill climb to the nomination since announcing his candidacy in June.
