The first day of 2017 is going to be a wet one for Tucson.

And if you make the trek up Mount Lemmon, you likely will get to ring in the new year with several inches of snow.

A Sunday rainstorm is expected to drop about a half-inch on Tucson, following Saturday’s daylong drizzle. On Mount Lemmon, the National Weather Service expects 6 to 10 inches of snow to fall at elevations above 6,000 feet.

The high temperature in Tucson will be in the low 50s on Sunday, with the rain drying up by the evening. Monday will be a bit warmer, with high temperatures around 60 degrees. The low temperatures on Sunday and Monday should be in the high 30s.
