A fast-moving storm is predicted to enter the Tucson area Sunday and bring rain to the valley and snow to the mountains through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
So pull out your sweaters and jackets as the cold front from the Northwest dives down into the desert Southwest, said Chris Rasmussen, a meteorologist in Tucson.
“About a quarter-of-an-inch of rainfall is expected in the valley and 2 to 4 inches of snow by Monday morning in the Catalinas,” Rasmussen said.
Snow may appear from 4,000 to 5,000 feet.
The storm system is normal for this time of year, and more storms expected in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, on Saturday the high is expected to reach 78 degrees. On Friday, it was 76 degrees.
The temperature will drop to highs of around 61 degrees Sunday, 60 degrees on Monday and 58 degrees on Tuesday, said Rasmussen.
At this time of year, our average high is 73 degrees and the average low is 43 degrees.
“We have been above average here for quite some time, and we will be shifting into a pattern that will be below the normal,” Rasmussen said.
