Former Tennessee safety Jack Luttrell committed to the Arizona Wildcats on Monday, becoming the third acquisition for the UA in the transfer portal.Β 

Arizona landed its second defensive back in the transfer portal on Monday, after former Tennessee safety Jack Luttrell pledged to the Wildcats following his visit at the UA this past weekend.Β 

The 6-foot, 180-pound Luttrell signed with the Volunteers over Texas A&M, Colorado, Arkansas and Notre Dame, among others, as a three-star prospect from Moultrie, Georgia in 2023.

As a standout at Colquitt County High School, the two-way Luttrell had 211 tackles, five interceptions and eight pass breakups, along with 850 receiving yards, 495 rushing yards and 247 passing yards, in addition toΒ 1,061 kickoff return yards and 280 punt return yards. He didn't appear in any games for the Volunteers in his lone season at Tennessee.Β 

Luttrell is the third addition through the transfer portal for Arizona, joining Indiana transfer cornerback Jordan Shaw and UC Davis defensive tackle Chubba Maae.Β Former four-star recruit and Missouri transfer D.J. Wesolak, a 6-4, 235-pound edge rusher,Β was also in Tucson visiting over the weekend, and is strongly considering the Wildcats.Β 

The early signing period for Arizona's 2024 recruiting class is on Wednesday.Β
