Will there be an "added layer of venom" toward Colorado at McKale Center on Thursday night, as Buffzone's Pat Rooney suggests could happen?

If so, Tad Boyle says he's ready for it.

Not only did the Buffs hand UA its only Pac-12 loss so far on Jan. 6, but Boyle's "hell, yes" comment made it clear the win meant more against a team involved in the federal investigation.

"For me, I said what I said. I answered a question honestly and I'm moving on," Boyle told Buffzone. "Arizona will do what they do and react how they react. To me it's water under the bridge. I know it's never an easy atmosphere down there. If get some extra jabs or barbs or whatever, Sean (Miller) is always trying to kick our (butts). It's not like he can kick our (butts) more."

While the FBI investigation resulted in the decommitment of five-star guard Jahvon Quinerly from UA, while several other five-star prospects dropped the Wildcats, ASU took advantage of it to land five-star forward Taeshon Cherry.

Doug Haller's interesting story on Cherry's recruitment quotes his mother saying ASU didn't initially recruit him because they thought he was "out of our realm" but things changed after he was committed to USC and reportedly named in the federal complaint.

An argument can be made, however, that UA commit Brandon Williams would be a five-star player and McDonalds All-American if he didn't miss a year with a knee injury.

Williams made a little noise about that with a 52-point effort in an overtime game on Wednesday. (Note the french fries emoji in this tweet:)

The Pac-12's "task force" has a tough job if it is to implement any change in college basketball, according to a Buffzone story.

Surging USC is dealing with what Andy Enfield calls its "most challenging" season.

ESPN's updated mock 2018 NBA Draft has Deandre Ayton going No. 2 to Atlanta, Rawle Alkins going No. 41 to Utah and Allonzo Trier going to Indiana at No. 45.

USC's Jordan McLaughlin has bumped UA's Jason Gardner out of the Pac-12 career Top 10 assist list.

And, yes, it's the 30th anniversary of what those around Sean Miller call "The Pass."

What is officially known as Bill Raftery's "Send it in Jerome!" moment is attached to this post...Β
