Kadeem Allen has shuttled between the Boston Celtics and the G League’s Maine Red Claws as a designated two-way player.

Kadeem Allen's rookie season with the Boston Celtics organization keeps getting better. Monday, the former Arizona Wildcat was named the G League's Player of the Week after averaging 38 points for the Maine Red Claws last week.

Allen is the first player for the Red Claws to win the award, per the G League's release

The game that probably lifted Allen into the conversation of player of the week was a 46-point performance, which was the fourth-highest in Red Claws history and a career-high for Allen.

The 6-foot-3 point guard always maintained the label as a two-way player, but with a main focus on defense. UA head coach Sean Miller consistently coined Allen as one of the best defensive players that played at Arizona and that part is still in tact, with Allen averaging 2.6 steals per game.

Allen's offensive productivity is leaps and bounds further than his numbers at Arizona. At the UA, Allen averaged 9.1 points and 3.1 assists per game. With the Red Claws, he's averaging 18 points on 46.7 percent shooting along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game.

“I’m excited for him, because he’s someone we think highly of,” said Celtics head coach Brad Stevens per Celtics Twitter.

According to Celtics reporter Marc D'Amico, Allen was also called up to Boston Monday after Shane Larkin was scratched from the lineup with a sore knee.

Here's highlights of Allen's weekend with the Red Claws:
