While it isΒ hard to believe that Sean Miller would consider leaving for Ohio State, the UA basketball coach might be tempted if he sensed support was lagging from school's new leadership.

That doesn't appear to be the case.Β

New UA president Robert Robbins made his support pretty clear during a wide-ranging interview with the Arizona Republic.

"The Ohio State University is great university, but they are not going to get Coach Miller," Robbins told the Republic. "They will have to come over me to get him, as the saying goes, over my dead body."

Robbins also said Miller is a "tremendous, tremendous individual who has had great success on the court. I know he’s disappointed he couldn’t bring a national championship to the state, given that the Final Four was here."

New UA commit Brandon Williams is aiming to return to the court in July, but won't play on the travel-ball circuit, his stepfather, Chris Wright, told the Star.

Wright said the family isn't disclosing the exact knee injury he suffered but said it was not an ACL tear and that Williams should be "100 percent" for his senior season of high school at Crespi Carmelite and beyond.

"Our goal is to have him ready for high school when practice starts" next fall, Wright said. "He played through EYBL last year and the symptoms of swelling kept occurring. It was just something that kept lingering."

Arizona's two exhibition games have been contracted and confirmed: On Nov. 1 against Eastern New Mexico and Nov. 5 against Chico State.

UA will not play a closed scrimmage because it is hosting the two exhibitions in order to meet its minimum home game quota for season-ticket holders. Teams can either have one exhibition against a non-Division I team and a closed scrimmage against a Division I team, or two exhibitions against non D-1 teams.
