Kevin Sumlin has announced his first Arizona Wildcats coaching staff.
The biggest takeaways: Defensive coordinator Marcel Yates will coach linebackers, as he did in his first season; and Chuck Cecil will remain with the program as senior defensive analyst.
Here’s the complete staff with their assignments for the 2018 season:
- Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks: Noel Mazzone
- Running backs: Clarence McKinney
- Outside receivers: Taylor Mazzone
- Inside receivers: Theron Aych
- Offensive linemen: Joe Gilbert
- Defensive coordinator/linebackers: Marcel Yates
- Defensive linemen: Iona Uiagalelei
- Cornerbacks: Demetrice Martin
- Safeties: John Rushing
- Special teams: Jeremy Springer
"This is an outstanding staff that I am excited to introduce to our players, their families and our fans," Sumlin said in a news release. "It's important to me that each of our coaches be strong recruiters, while being the best at developing players on and off the field. Each of these assistant coaches are accomplished in those areas, and I am looking forward to our first season together."
