Oregon State wide receiver Silas Bolden slips a tackle by Utah cornerback JaTravis Broughton during the Beavers’ win over the Utes.

One of the top receivers in the transfer portal is strongly considering the Arizona Wildcats.

Former Oregon State slot receiver Silas Bolden will visit the UA on Jan. 19 after visiting Texas this weekend, he told On3.com's Pete Nakos on Tuesday. Bolden will visit Washington the day after his stop in Tucson on Jan. 20, then take an official visit to USC on Jan. 27.

The 5-8, 157-pound Bolden finished his three-year career at Oregon State with 80 catches for 1,076 yards and nine touchdowns. Bolden led the Beavers this season with 746 yards, and had five catches for 66 yards in Oregon State's loss to Arizona in Tucson.

Bolden is a potential replacement for Jacob Cowing, a two-year starting slot receiver for the Wildcats. Cowing, a Maricopa native and former UTEP Miner, ended his career seventh in college football history with 4,477 career yards — and ninth with 316 receptions. His two touchdowns in the Alamo Bowl earned him bowl game MVP honors and made him first in program history in single-season touchdowns (13). Cowing’s 175 catches in two seasons at the UA places him fifth on Arizona’s all-time receptions list. The 5-11, 175-pound slot receiver is statistically one of the top receivers in program history.

Other options for Arizona at slot receiver are freshman Malachi Riley and soon-to-be third-year player Kevin Green Jr., who started for the injured Cowing against Utah and had eight catches for 97 yards this season.

Arizona currently has four players joining the program through the transfer portal in 2024.
