Arizona football spring practice 2025 | March 18, 2025

Offensive lineman Ty Buchanan executes a drill during an Arizona football spring practice on March 18, 2025, inside the Cole and Jeannie Davis Sports Center.

It's the beginning of the end for Arizona's spring practice schedule. The Wildcats kicked off their final week of spring ball on Tuesday β€” aka Transfer Portal Eve β€” at Dick Tomey Practice Fields.Β

Here are notes and takeaways from Arizona's 13th practice of the spring:Β

* Texas Tech transfer left tackle Ty Buchanan, who missed last week for personal reasons, returned to practice and started at left tackle on Tuesday. Buchanan started alongside left guard and former nose tackle Chubba Ma'ae, Hawaii transfer center Ka'ena Decambra, right guard Alexander Doost and Michigan transfer right tackle Tristan Bounds. Redshirt junior Michael Wooten was also mixed in with Arizona's starters.

* Arizona's second offensive line unit included redshirt freshman left tackle Matthew Lado, walk-on Zarius Wells at right guard, center Ise Matautia, Portland State transfer Isaac Perez and Wooten and Bounds at right tackle.Β

* Receiver Chris Hunter III, who missed several practices for an undisclosed injury, returned to the lineup.Β

* Running backs worked on picking up linebacker blitzes in pass protection.

* Second-year linebacker Stacy Bey played safety, but gave up a 60-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Braedyn Locke to Chattanooga transfer receiver Javin "Nunu" Whatley.Β

* Running back Kedrick Reescano had one of the top plays on Tuesday, taking a screen pass down the left sideline for an 80-yard touchdown.Β

* Defensive tackle Jarra Anderson, who missed last season with a leg injury, had at least two tackles for loss on Tuesday. Tiaoalii Savea and Deshawn McKnight are trending towards starting, but Anderson's ascension bodes well for the Wildcats' interior depth.

* Redshirt freshman edge rusher Eduwa Okundaye also had multiple tackles for loss, including a sack on the 4-yard line on second down during a goal-line team period. Running back Quincy Craig was stopped on the 1-yard line the following play, but quarterback Noah Fifita threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Sam Olson to end practice.Β  Β
