Arizona Wildcats football OLD

Wide receiver Devaughn Cooper has left the Arizona Wildcats football program.

Cooper would have been a redshirt freshman this season. He appeared in two games last year, catching one pass for 15 yards, before missing the rest of the season because of injury.

Cooper, a three-star recruit from Narbonne High in Los Angeles, was considered a possible breakout player for the Wildcats. Arizona lost three of its top four pass catchers from last season. The UA also changed receivers coaches in the offseason, with Theron Aych replacing Tony Dews.

The Wildcats add two scholarship receivers this year: freshmen Brian Casteel and Drew Dixon. All the freshmen and transfers have been listed on the online roster. We’ll have their numbers, heights and weights on Tucson.com later today.

Players are set to report for training camp Sunday and begin practicing Monday.
