The Arizona Wildcats’ roster continued to change Sunday when defensive end Francisco Nelson announced he was transferring.

Nelson, who’s entering his redshirt-sophomore season, tweeted that he’s transferring to Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina.

Nelson was a non-factor in his two seasons at Arizona and wouldn’t have had a meaningful role this year. He redshirted as a freshman in 2016 and did not accumulate any stats in ’17.

Nelson came to Arizona as a two-star prospect from Lakeland, Florida. His departure frees up a scholarship for a transfer or a 2019 recruit.

Late last month, the Wildcats added transfer offensive lineman Robert Congel while parting ways with offensive lineman Maisen Knight. This sort of roster churn is not uncommon when a new coaching staff takes over a program. Don’t be surprised to see additional comings and goings over the course of the summer.
