After years of complaints from the media – it is called “Media Day,” after all – the Pac-12 seems to have gotten the message.
This year’s Media Day, which is scheduled for July 25 in Los Angeles, features five quarterbacks and several other “stars,” many of whom are not seniors. The default for many schools in recent years has been to bring seniors who weren’t necessarily headliners as a sort of career-capping reward.
This year’s event is being jammed into one day, with representatives from the North Division appearing in the morning and the South Division going in the afternoon.
Junior quarterback Khalil Tate and sophomore linebacker Colin Schooler will represent Arizona, along with first-year Wildcats coach Kevin Sumlin. Arizona will open training camp nine days later, on Aug. 3.
