The crowd celebrates with Arizona guard Caleb Love (2) after his long range bomb against Utah in the second half of their Pac 12 game at McKale Center, Tucson, Ariz., January 6, 2024.

Arizona senior Caleb Love was named one of the top 10 candidates for the Jerry West Award, which honors the top shooting guard in college basketball.

Love, a transfer from North Carolina, leads Arizona in scoring with 19.3 average points per game while shooting 44.9% and 34.7% from 3-point range.

After tying the single-game scoring record at Oregon's Matthew Knight Arena with 36 points on Saturday, Love is averaging 22.8 points in Pac-12 games while shooting 50.3% overall and 39.1% from 3-point range.

Love was a teammate at North Carolina of another player on the list, RJ Davis, while this season he has faced Top 10 West list picks Michigan State's Tyson Walker and FAU's Jonhnell Davis. Love would have faced another in USC's Boogie Ellis but Ellis was injured during UA's 82-67 win over USC on Jan. 17. The Wildcats will face the Trojans in Los Angeles in their regular-season finale on March 9.

Other players on the West list included Kevin McCullar Jr., Kansas; Ja’Kobe Walter, Baylor; Antonio Reeves, Kentucky; Trey Alexander, Creighton and LJ Cryer of Houston.
