Arizona hasn’t filled its special-teams coaching vacancy yet, but the Wildcats have added a specialist to their 2025 class.
Three-star kicker/punter Tyler Prasuhn announced his commitment to Arizona on Monday. Prasuhn previously was committed to Washington.
Three-star kicker/punter Tyler Prasuhn, the son of former Arizona kicker Jon Prasuhn, committed to the Wildcats on Monday.
Arizona lost veteran placekicker Tyler Loop to graduation. The UA brings back rising sophomore Michael Salgado-Medina, who served as the team’s main punter as a true freshman. It’s unclear whether Salgado-Medina’s future lies at punter, placekicker or some combination of the two.
Prasuhn is from Carlsbad, California. He is the son of Jon Prasuhn, who kicked for Arizona in the 1990s. The elder Prasuhn made 10 of 16 field goals and 24 of 27 extra points in 1993 and ’95.
Tyler Prasuhn participated in the Chris Sailer Kicking Camp and received the following evaluation:
“Tyler is a phenomenal high school kicking and punting prospect. He is a great-looking athlete with a live leg. Tyler does an excellent job on field goals. He gets the ball up well off the ground and easily has 55-plus-yard range. Tyler is pure and accurate. His kickoffs are strong, D1 ready. Tyler drives the ball 65-plus with 4.15-plus hang time. He is also a very talented punter. His best punts measure 40-plus yards, with 5.0-plus hang time.
“A competitor who kicks with big confidence. I look forward to seeing what the future holds. Look for Tyler to dominate his senior season picking up additional offers along the way. He is a fine young man who is always a great pleasure to work with. One of the hardest workers out there. Outstanding combo prospect.”
