Arizona star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan "had a little procedure" on Wednesday for a left leg injury he sustained last Saturday in practice, according to head coach Brent Brennan on Thursday.

McMillan got tied up in a one-on-one battle with cornerback Tacario Davis, then limped off the Arizona Stadium turf to the locker room. McMillan missed the rest of practice on Saturday and has been wearing a walking boot on his left leg and using a knee scooter to move around the Dick Tomey Practice Fields this week.Β

Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan wears a boot on his left leg while watching the Wildcats during spring football practice in late April. UA coach Brent Brennan expects him to be ready to go for the 2024 season.

Brennan didn't disclose McMillan's injury, but said, "We're expecting to have full recovery."

"You see him cruising around the scooter. He's in good spirits, he's a total warrior, and we expect him back for the season," Brennan said.

Brennan didn't forecast when McMillan would return to full strength and noted "it'll take a little bit of time though."

McMillan is coming off a sophomore campaign where he recorded the second-most receiving yards (1,402) in a season by a UA receiver. McMillan’s career-high happened in the 2023 Territorial Cup game, where he tallied 11 catches for 266 yards and a touchdown in a 36-point win over Arizona State. McMillan was a second-team All-Pac-12 selection and received third-team Associated Press All-American honors.

After McMillan left practice on Saturday, "it was cool to see everybody step up. Receivers stepped up, Montana (Lemonious-Craig),Β Malachi RileyΒ coming up to me making sure I knew I could depend on them when things got rough," said Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita.

"Even the O-line, you saw the O-line pick each other up. The running backs are saying, β€˜We gotta come together as a team.’ Obviously when you’re practicing without probably the best player in the country, you’re going to have to pick up in other areas," Fifita said. "Seeing all the guys come together and nobody flinches, it was reminiscent of last year.”

Arizona concludes its spring practice schedule with the spring game on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Arizona Stadium, which will also be televised on Pac-12 Network.Β
