Arizona Wildcats football

Arizona will have more depth in its quarterback room for the 2024 season, after the Wildcats added former Northern Arizona quarterback and transfer Adam Damante, who announced his commitment to the UA on Tuesday.

Damante started five games for the Lumberjacks as a true freshman last season, and played in NAU's 35-point season-opening loss to Arizona in September.

The 6-2, 180-pound Gilbert native passed for 1,146 yards, six touchdowns and nine interceptions for NAU last season. As a standout at American Leadership Academy in Gilbert, where he was teammates with current UA freshman wide receiver Brandon Phelps, Damante passed for 8,772 touchdowns and 109 touchdowns. In 2022, Damante was named a finalist for the Ed Doherty Award given to the top high school football player in Arizona.

Damante will join a quarterback group at Arizona that includes returning star and potential All-Big 12 selection Noah Fifita, second-year backup Brayden Dorman, San Jose State transfer Anthony Garcia and walk-on Cole Tannenbaum.

Arizona kicks off the 2024 season against New Mexico on Aug. 31 in Tucson.
