Arizona Colorado Football

Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita had a rough first half but was 13 of 17 in the final 30 minutes as the Wildcats rallied beat Colorado in 2023.

The themes for Arizona's seven home football games in 2024 were revealed on Friday.

In the Wildcats' first season under head coach Brent Brennan, Arizona will kick off the season against New Mexico on Aug. 31 for a Native American Land Acknowledgement game, in addition to honoring the upcoming UA Sports Hall of Fame inductees.

Arizona ends nonconference play against Northern Arizona on Sept. 7 for Hispanic Heritage Night.

Arizona officially begins its new era as a Big 12 member on the road against former Pac-12 cohort Utah in Salt Lake City (Kansas State game in Manhattan will be ruled a nonconference game since it was previously scheduled before conference realignment), but the Wildcats' first conference home game will be against the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Oct. 5.

The UA most recently played Texas Tech in 2019, beating the Red Raiders 28-14, in the first — and ultimately only — game of an originally planned home-and-home series; the game in 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Texas Tech and Arizona were formerly Border Conference rivals; Arizona is 5-26-2 all-time against TTU.

The Wildcats' matchup for homecoming will be against the Colorado Buffaloes, led by Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders and quarterback Shedeur Sanders. CU comes to Tucson a year after falling to the Wildcats 34-31 in walk-off fashion in Boulder.

Arizona's final home game of October will be against West Virginia for family weekend, followed by Community Day against Houston on either Nov. 14 (Thursday), Nov. 15 (Friday) or Nov. 16 (Saturday).

The Territorial Cup game, the first as Big 12 opponents, against Arizona State is also Senior Day and the final contest of the season.
