Arizona State wide receiver Elijhah Badger tries to escape California defensive back Raymond Woodie III during their Sept. 30 game.

The Arizona Wildcats are one of three finalists to land one of the top wide receivers currently in the transfer portal.

Former Arizona State star receiver Elijhah Badger, who entered the transfer portal during the two-week spring period last month, will announce his decision on Friday — and the UA, Washington and Florida are his choices, according to On3.com's Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday.

Badger took official visits to each of the three schools, which are all linked to former Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch, who graduated from the law school at Florida, where he started his well-traveled coaching career working for the Gators' former "head ball coach" Steve Spurrier, and is now coaching at Washington after three years in Tucson.

The 6-1, 185-pound Badger had 135 catches for 1,579 yards and 10 touchdowns the last two seasons with the Sun Devils. Badger had eight receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown in ASU's loss to Arizona for the Territorial Cup in 2022; Badger didn't play in the rivalry game this past season.

Badger, a Sacramento native and former four-star recruit, was recruited by Arizona head coach Brent Brennan and his staff at San Jose State in 2020, before he signed with the Sun Devils. One of Badgers' coaches at ASU was current Arizona wide receivers coach Bobby Wade.

After losing slot receiver Kevin Green Jr. to Washington, the Wildcats added former Old Dominion wide receiver and Bay Area native Reymello Murphy, who was 27th in FBS in yards per catch last season. Adding Badger to Arizona's receiver room that has potential first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan, veteran Montana Lemonious-Craig, Murphy and budding talent in Malachi Riley, Devin Hyatt, Chris Hunter and Brandon Phelps, among others, would give Arizona one of the top receiver rooms in college football.
